GottMik, Drag performer, Artist, Uber and Uber Eats Customer
Coming out is not a uniform experience, nor is it a singular event. Wherever there are people, there are coming out moments – moments in which LGBTQIA+ individuals are forced to think about safety and acceptance. Whether you’re in the front seat or the back seat, delivering a meal or collecting your groceries, we want you to feel safe and comfortable expressing your true self.
Coming out is every day. Allyship must be, too.
We connected with members of our community including activists and all-around talents GottMik, Essie Golden, Brandon Kyle Goodman, and James Whiteside to hear their perspectives on coming out and compassionate allyship. Their stories are uniquely empowering, and united in their encouragement to listen to, love, and respect each other — and ourselves.
Check out their individual videos on Instagram, and see below for advice on how to show up as an ally every moment of every day.
